The Shang Dynasty

The shang is the second dynasties of China. The dynasty was followed the first dynasty which is the Xia dynasty. Shang dynasty was form by having classes divde by king, govenors, and nobles.

The Shang Dynasty ruled from 1046 BC to about 1766BC. The dynasty was established by the king which is call Tang in 1675 BC after overthrowing the Xia dynasty. The Shang was led by Tang, who was the owner of the Shang tribe. Tang rule more than 17 years and then he his faimly ruled after.(5)

Reason for take-over

The shang was led by a leader name Tang. He was to be the first king of the Shang Dynasty and he was the leader of his own tribe.(6) After Tang took over, the cities that was found by the Shang become more civilized. One reason for Tang to take over is that to increase urbanization. The first was dynasty struggle alot to looses it throne, Tang overthrew the first the dynasty and led his own. Unbanization occured after Tang became the ruler and the Shang had the power.(7)

Leaders of the Civilization

During the generations of the dynasty, there were more than 30 leaders. Some of them have a big part in the dynasty but more are likely not known what they've done. The first leader is Tang, who is the founder of the Shang dynasty. Tang rule more than 17 years and bring civilization to the people. Ideas and invention happened when he is in power.(7)The second is a leader named Wai Bing, and third is Shang Zhou.(4)

A Leader from Another Civiliztion outside of China, but during the same time period

The Shang Dynasty is in the age which is called the Bronze age. and at that time there is another leader in egypt. The leader was Nebkheperure Tutankhamun or King Tut. He ruled Egypt from 1333 BC - 1322 BC. King Tut was only nine years old when he became a pharoah and he only lived about ten years more. King tut only ruled for a short period of time and his death is still unsolved.(3)

Accomplishment

The shang dynasty was one of the dynasty that invented ideas that still passed on till today. Many of new inventions was invented in this dynasty and most of them are imnportant and are use through the rest of the dynasty. The first Chinese writing system was introduce in this dynasty and it is called oral script. The oral script was to record important events and acheivement on a turtle shell. Every events was recorded even floods, storms, and military battles.(8)

Also the Shang first uses a container called "metallurgy" as cooking materials, alcohol container, and for keeping weapons. Bronze were made and the most famous bronze was Simuwu Quadripod which is the largest in the world. Bronze was the symbol of the Shang dynasty after all.(8)



Chinese Arts

Farming equipments was also improved during this dynasty. Spades and sickle was introduced and was used. The first jaquad loom that was use to create silk, was first invented in the Shang dynasty.(8)


Reason for Fall

Di Xin, the last ruler of the Shang Dynasty rule over a slave-owning period. Di Xin or Zhou was a tyrant and his own people hates him. Many rebellions go against him and he struggle to lose his throne many times. Di xin was betrayed by his own nobles and at that time King Wu, leader of the Zhou Dynasty put on an attacked and overthrew the Shang dynasty and the Shang dynasty came to an end.(2)
